This Privacy Policy explains how NoPickyDog (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://nopickydog.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1) Information We Collect

A. Information you provide

We may collect information you provide directly, such as:

  • Email address (for newsletters, if enabled)
  • Information you include in messages sent through our Contact page or email

B. Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we (and our service providers) may automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • Device identifiers and browser information
  • Operating system and device type
  • Pages viewed, time spent, clicks, referring/exit pages
  • Approximate location derived from IP (city/region-level)
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4)

C. Information from third parties

We may receive information from third-party providers such as:

  • Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Advertising partners and ad networks (e.g., Google)
  • Hosting, security, and performance providers

C. Account and dog profile information

If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password, or — if you sign in with Google — the email address and name that Google provides. We also store a session token in a cookie named payload-token so you stay signed in. If you save a dog, we store what you entered: the dog’s name, optional photo, breed, size, date of birth or life stage, neutering status, weight, body condition, activity level, current food, feeding estimates, and any picky eating checks you complete. You can view, edit, and delete this information from your account.

D. Information stored in your browser

Some tools save your progress in your browser’s local storage so you do not lose your answers. This data stays on your device until it is saved to your account or you clear it. We use:

  • npd_feeding_baseline_draft_v1 and npd_feeding_saved_v1 — your in-progress feeding estimate, and a marker preventing the same draft from being saved twice
  • npd_picky_check — your in-progress picky eating check
  • npd_wizard — a draft from an earlier version of the feeding flow, migrated and then removed
  • npd_sid — a random identifier used only to group affiliate link clicks (see Section 3)

2) How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
  • Monitor performance and user experience
  • Understand traffic and content effectiveness (analytics)
  • Display, personalize, and measure advertising (if/when enabled)
  • Respond to inquiries and provide support
  • Protect the Site from fraud, abuse, and security risks
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms

3) How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information:

  • With service providers who help us run the Site (hosting, security, analytics, email delivery)
  • With advertising partners and ad networks (if ads are enabled) to deliver and measure ads
  • For legal reasons if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights and safety
  • In connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition, or sale of assets)

4) Cookies, Pixels, and Similar Technologies

A. What they are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Pixels and local storage are similar technologies used for analytics and advertising.

B. How we use them

We and our partners may use cookies to:

  • Remember preferences
  • Understand site usage and performance
  • Deliver and measure advertising (including interest-based ads, if enabled)
  • Prevent fraud and maintain security

C. Your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings. You may also use browser extensions or privacy controls to limit tracking. If you disable cookies, some features may not work properly.

5) Advertising (Google AdSense)

This Site participates in Google AdSense. Our Google AdSense publisher ID is ca-pub-9287193993079186, and the AdSense script is loaded on public pages of the Site.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Third parties (including Google) may read and write cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers, to collect information in connection with serving and measuring ads on this Site. This information may include your IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you view.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalized advertising by many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices and optout.networkadvertising.org. Google’s own practices are described in the Google Privacy & Terms – How Google uses information from sites that use our services.

We do not control the cookies or identifiers set by these third parties, and we do not receive your personal information from them.

6) Analytics

We do not currently use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any other third-party analytics service on this Site. We record a small number of internal, non-identifying product events (for example, that a feeding estimate was viewed) to understand which tools are used. These events do not include your name, email address, or your dog’s name.

Separately, our hosting provider and the advertising service described in Section 5 may process technical request data such as IP addresses as part of delivering and securing the Site. If we add a third-party analytics service in the future, we will update this Policy.

7) Email Newsletter

If you subscribe (if/when enabled), we will send emails to the address you provide. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in emails. We may use an email service provider to manage subscriptions and delivery.

8) Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

9) Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10) Children’s Privacy

The Site is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11) Your Rights (U.S. and Other Regions)

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at hello@nopickydog.com.

  • We do not sell personal information for money.
  • We may “share” certain data for interest-based advertising (as defined by CPRA) if ads are enabled.
  • You may have the right to request access to or deletion of certain information.

12) International Visitors

If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

13) Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their policies.

14) Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Policy.

Affiliate links and third-party merchants

NoPickyDog uses affiliate links. When you click an affiliate buy button, we may record an internal, anonymous click event (which product and merchant, and general context such as page placement) to understand which recommendations are useful. We do not store your full IP address, your full browser user agent, or your dog's name for these events.

Cookies or similar tracking technologies may be used where applicable. After you leave NoPickyDog, third-party merchants and affiliate networks — including Amazon, Impact and Chewy — may process your information under their own privacy policies. NoPickyDog never receives your merchant account password or payment-card details.
